Remembering Jane Yolen
Author Jane Yolen died today at the age of 87, and I’d like to share this memory of her.
In 2018 I was was living in Massachusetts, which gave me the delightful opportunity to visit Jane in her home to interview her for The Book of Life Podcast. Along with her co-author Barbara Diamond Goldin, we were talking about Meet Me at the Well: The Girls and Women of the Bible, a collection of fascinating and empowering short stories. Barbara and Jane both had so much wisdom to share, but all of us in the room — Barbara, me, my husband Matt, and Jane’s daughter (also named Heidi) were all enraptured by Jane’s storytelling. She just swept us all away. I’m glad to have this recording of her voice to share with you.
