Matthew Winner has been podcasting since 2013, and since his show is weekly, he’s racked up about 900 episodes. His podcast features insightful and sincere interviews with authors, illustrators, and everyone involved in taking a book from drawing board to bookshelf. When I told him about The Book of Life’s 20th anniversary and floated the idea of joining him on his show, he said “Are you kidding me?! Of COURSE I’d have you on in a heartbeat, Heidi!” I was tickled by his enthusiasm, and we ended up having a wonderful conversation. Listening back, I hear myself talking much faster than I do on The Book of Life - a mark of how excited I was to chat with Matthew!
